“Delicate tropical fruit notes, clean fruit flavors, and acid levels that are ideal for serving with grilled seafood drizzled with lemon.”

Silver Medal – 2007 Royal Easter Show Awards

"Nicely deep and concentrated style whilst retaining lots of drinkability. Hawke's Bay at its finest in terms of balance and flavour and offering heaps of mouthfilling flavours already. A very nice dinner wine as well as with an antipasto course pre-dinner."
Peter Sanders F&B Magazine

"Cassis, chocolate, dark roasted coffee beans and ripe spices leap out of the glass. Very upfront but measured fruit. The rich, ripe and equally generous tannins are very intense. The structure is rich but no hard, and there is freshness on the finish."
Decanter: New Zealand Guide 2008, February 2008

Bronze Medal – 2006 International Wine Awards

"Another classy, pricy wine from Hawkes Bay , but the extra couple of years' bottle age makes all the difference to drinkability. It still has dense blackcurrant fruit, but it has mellowed and malty, spicy complexities have developed. It's powerful, intense, concentrated and firmly structured, but balanced and very stylish, and the tannins have softened slightly but are still firm and drying. It will continue to develop for several more years."
Charmian Smith, Otago Daily Times

2004 hawkes bay navigator (meritage blend)
Blend: 42% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cab. Franc, 8% Malbec
Bouquet: Berries, plums, and violet.
Palate: Plum and blackberry supported by clove and spicy notes.
Serving Suggestions: Red meat, pasta, cheeses, hearty fare.

Hawke's Bay on New Zealand's North Island is proving a fabulous source of New World Bordeaux blends. This offering is redolent with fresh cassis aromas with a herbaceous edge and a hint of menthol. The palate is smooth, ripe, and generous with substantial weight of fruit and structure. Delicious.
Decanter Magazine, June 2007

A consistently good, full-flavoured blend... massaged in this case with some sweet and toasty oak to produce a very attractive wine. A hint of cloves and other spicy, gamey characters add complexity.
Warren Barton, Dominion Post (NZ)

Green Flag Flyer
Smooth and juicy blackcurrant fruit is interleaved with savoury notes, hints of herbs and spice, and a chocolatey richness in this midweight, merlot-dominant blend that is one of the rare wines on the market that sports the SWNZ [Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand] logo.
Viva Mag., New Zealand Herald, Aug. 2007

It's ripe, juicy, full-bodied and flavoursome with firm fine tannins melting into the blackberry and plum fruit, mid palate fleshiness and a dark savoury finish with a little flourish of spice and a hint of chocolate. Great length too. Tasted July 2007.
Sue Courtney, wineoftheweek.com

2005 hawkes bay leonarda (late harvest semillon)
Blend: Mango, orange, rose, marmalade, and grapefruit.
Bouquet: Marmalade, ripe tropical fruits, grapefruit, and honey. Full-flavored and well-balanced, with a velvety mid-palate and a clean, citrus finish.
Palate: Almond cake, fresh fruit tart, cheese.
